Anything that can help me write is awesome

writemonkey-logoI don’t know whether I have Attention Deficit Disorder or maybe everyone in this hyperactive world shows signs of ADD — whichever, I need help concentrating when I write.

That’s where Write Monkey from Zenware comes in, it’s another one of those no distraction text editors that runs full screen and covers all distractions in pleasant blackness.

Admittedly there are a bunch of them. I’ve written about these kind of text editors before such as DarkRoom on Windows and WriteRoom on the Mac.

The difference with Write Monkey is that for a stripped down text editor, under the wraps, there are a plenty of useful features.

The two top features for me, beyond being a good distraction-free text editor, are the ability to save text to a repository so that it can be reused, and a little, tiny, non distracting word count bar that can also allow you to set a time for your writing and then keeps track of how much time you have spent.

Even though you’re sitting and typing away, help is always available via an F1 key or a right-click.
