Creating blocks of time to do your best work

Merlin Mann comic Merlin Mann, the web’s bad boy of time management, has started recording podcasts again.

Having grown dis-satisfied with the general quality and tenor of blogging, including his own,  he has slowed down to a trickle the posts on his 43Folders site and has begun to tightly write about “finding the time and attention to do your best creative work.”  In that vein, his first new podcast “Gangs, constraint and courageous blocks” is about ways of creating blocks of time to do your own best work.

Ganging - grouping “like tasks” together and doing them all at once – don’t break continually break rhythm to check and answer emails.

Constraints - using simple constraints like scheduling telephone calls to schedule time

Listen to the podcast (and subscribe) — it’s well worth the 10 minutes.
